Why Don’t You Film Inside Businesses?
One of the ways we support local businesses across Colorado is by filming them from the outside and sharing short videos on our social media pages. This often leads to one question: “Why don’t you film inside businesses?” Especially when we feature a restaurant, people often ask why we don’t show the food.
The answer is simple: we want to highlight as many Colorado businesses as possible.
There are already plenty of people creating content focused on what’s inside a restaurant or store — the food, products, decor, and overall experience. We want to do something a little different. Our goal is simply to give businesses visibility and let people know they’re there.
We also want to respect people’s privacy. We don’t want to film customers coming in or leaving, or people enjoying time with their family and friends inside a restaurant. That’s why we often film on weekend mornings, when many businesses are closed or much quieter.
And we don’t charge businesses for these videos. If we filmed inside, ordered food, went shopping, or spent significant time at each location, creating the content would take much more time and cost much more. By keeping our videos simple and filming from the outside, we can visit and highlight many more businesses throughout Colorado.
And we’ve seen that these simple videos can make a difference. We’ve heard from people who saw one of our videos and then called a restaurant to make a reservation. Others have commented that they live nearby but had never heard of a particular business until they saw our video, and that they’re now planning to visit.
For us, that’s exactly what this is about: helping people discover local businesses they might otherwise have overlooked.
