When we started Colorado Business Finder, our goal was simple: create a directory where people could discover Colorado businesses.

From the beginning, we wanted to make it accessible, which is why our Standard Listings have always been free.

As we worked on the directory, we realized we wanted to support businesses in another way too. We started visiting places around Colorado, taking photos and videos, and sharing them on social media. Before long, supporting local businesses through both our directory and our social media community became a big part of what Colorado Business Finder is all about.

Many people don’t realize that Colorado Business Finder is really just the two of us.

Carrie is the heart behind our social media. She spends countless hours planning trips, visiting businesses and landmarks, taking photos and videos, editing content, writing posts, responding to comments, and keeping everything running behind the scenes. Her dedication is the reason you’re seeing this post today.

Peter is the technical person behind Colorado Business Finder. While he runs his web development business, he also builds and maintains the directory, works on the website, and joins Carrie on many of our adventures across Colorado.

Whenever we’re out exploring, we try to capture as many photos and videos as possible. Whether it’s a local coffee shop, restaurant, small business, scenic landmark, mountain town, or hidden gem, we love sharing the places we discover with all of you.

Many people have noticed that most of our business videos are filmed from the outside. We do this intentionally because it allows us to feature and support more businesses across Colorado. It also gives us the flexibility to visit places at different times of the day, sometimes even before they open. Most importantly, we don’t charge businesses for these videos—we simply enjoy showcasing the places we discover and helping spread the word about them.

What started as a directory has grown into an amazing community of 35,000 followers, and we’re incredibly grateful for every like, comment, share, recommendation, and message we’ve received along the way.

While Facebook has become our largest community, Colorado Business Finder is much more than a Facebook page and directory. We also share content on other social media platforms and continue looking for new ways to connect with people who love Colorado and enjoy supporting local businesses.
